First topic message reminder :For whatever reason, i stumbled across a site called wookiepedia, which is basically a star wars dedicated wikipedia.
I found myself reading all sorts of intresting stuff about star wars history and star wars futures. There is information there about jedi such as obi wan, or yoda or loads of other people, which doesnt feature in the films and in fact, isnt even part of the same timeframe (some information goes back generations, but whetrher this information is 'lucas approved' im not sure. But if anybody wants an intresting read, go to this site and do some research ^^
For example i was reading about Obi-wan, and found out some intresting stuff.
Read and enjoy this triviaObi-wan almost didnt make it as a jedi, Qui-Gon thought Obi-Wan was too agressive to be trained in combat, as he was a bit of loose cannon as a younglin. So Obi-Wan was exiled at the age of 13, and went to live on another planet as some kind of manual labourer or factory worker (cant remember what). It looked as if Obi-wan would never become a jedi because if you didnt have a master by the age of 14, you couldnt train as a jedi anymore, and had to become part of the Jedi Service Corps (which is like soldiers, who assist jedi, and are essentially jedi failures :/). However on the off chance, Qui-Gon's former apprentice turned dark jedi Xanatos, had laid a trap for him on the same planet that the young Obi-wan was working on, and the two crossed paths again. Obi-wan assisted Qui-Gon in thwarting Xanatos' plan, and Qui-Gon deemed him fit to be a jedi, thus just before he was 14, Obi-wan was accepted into the jedi order.
However the rest was not history. A few years later, with permission from the jedi and his master, Obi-wan went on a temporary sebbatical so that he could assist with a rebellion that was talking place on a planet that meant alot to him (idk if it was his home planet, because his home planet is unknown). Because this area was outside the durisdiction of the republic, the jedi gave Obi-wan clearance for a temporary exlie.
The war was over human rights on the planet and was basically between the young and the old. Older generations were greedy and also wanted to follow old traditions and teachings which the next generation did not agree with. Thus young people broke away and formed thier own resistance movement. Obi-wan joined the "the young" (which was the actually name of the resistance), to fight against the 'Elders'.
During this war and the rebellion on this planet called Melida/Daan (named after the two warring factions) obi-wan met a girl called Cerasi. After falling in love with her, he resolved to quit as a jedi and never return to the jedi order. As he confessed his love to Cerasi, his resignation was accepted by the jedi and he was about to start his new life. However shortly after this occurence, Cerasi was mortally wounded in combat, and died in Obi-wans arms before she could say how she felt about him. Thus Obi-wan never found out if she loved him or not.
After a short while, Obi-Wan was approached by Qui-Gon, and asked if he wished to continue his training, Kenobi accepted, and returned to the jedi order in Coursant.
See? How intresting was that?! And this website is full of trivia like that!
And to think, all of this happened well before the events of the phantom menace
Now on a totally different level here is the poser, i think i know the answer, but do you? It will be intresting to see peoples opinions here. So he goes:
What is the difference between a DARK JEDI, and a SITH?
