Server Hosting (help please)

Im having trouble here no matter what happens i cant get my server to show up in the list its been to long and I've forgotten how to host it on the net help please someone?

What i do is that i first run my mod (Blah blah blah). Then i just go to Create Server and change it to a dedicated server and make sure it says INTERNET And then i just press begin and i get a console Then i open a new game of jk2 and join the server

I do that but it still runs on local

If you're running Windows 7 (and it likely applies to Vista as well), I have not been able to get any game or web servers visible externally on that operating system. I periodically search for new answers and test new things, and if I discover the problem I'll let you know. Disabling or creating exceptions in the Windows Firewall, setting up port forwarding on your router, and disabling antivirus does not help (although most of those will be required first steps), nor does relaxing file permissions on the folders in question. It's something else and there isn't readily available documentation on the cause available on the internet.

Im on vista and got it working earlier but it only worked for my copy of twi mod

as for what the problem could have been i have no idea its not working now anyway so something may be wrong with my router :S

It works on both vista and xp, but dunno about 7
