First topic message reminder :

------------- The Communist manifesto written and formulated by Karl Marx -----------------------

Famous quotes
____________

The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains.

The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property.

You are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society, private property is already done away with for nine-tenths of the population; its existence for the few is solely due to its non-existence in the hands of those nine-tenths. You reproach us, therefore, with intending to do away with a form of property, the necessary condition for whose existence is the non-existence of any property for the immense majority of society.

Communism deprives no man of the ability to appropriate the fruits of his labour. The only thing it deprives him of is the ability to enslave others by means of such appropriations.

The need of a constantly expanding market for its products chases the bourgeoisie over the whole surface of the globe. It must nestle everywhere, settle everywhere, establish connexions everywhere.

Capitalist production, therefore, develops technology, and the combining together of various processes into a social whole, only by sapping the original sources of all wealth -- the soil and the labourer

Hitherto, every form of society has been based ... on the antagonism of oppressing and oppressed classes.

The past lies like a nightmare upon the present.

In proportion as the exploitation of one individual by another is put an end to, the exploitation of one nation by another will also be put an end to. In proportion as the antagonism between classes within the nation vanishes, the hostility of one nation to another will come to an end.

Democracy is the road to socialism.

Christian Socialism is but the holy water with which the priest consecrates the heart-burnings of the aristocrat.

Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.

All great historical facts and personages occur, as it were, twice ... the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

A spider conducts operations that resemble those of a weaver, and a bee puts to shame many an architect in the construction of her cells. But what distinguishes the worst architect from the best of bees is this, that the architect raises his structure in imagination before he erects it in reality.

Capital is dead labor, which, vampire-like, lives only by sucking living labor, and lives the more, the more labor it sucks.

I do not like money, money is the reason we fight.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Capital is money, capital is commodities.... By virtue of it being value, it has acquired the occult ability to add value to itself. It brings forth living offspring, or, at the least, lays golden eggs.

no they didnt pick a new ideology. they just prove complete opportunism and dishonesty. like telling ppl "dont smoke" and then go secretly smoking...
our government is full of contradictions, and most of our parties are going to be more and more contradicting. the small party which takes part of government used to be progressive... but funnily they declared to follow a middle RIGHT ideology. which is conservative. in fact one of the most conservative parties we have by now, especially because of the minister of that party. so thanks to the opportunism and lies they got many votes last elections: those who used to vote for them, and those who didnt want to vote for the 2 big parties as always, but didnt want to choose something progressive as well.
but by now that contradiction created a struggle within the party... and they're loosing many many voters. Smile

but i believe that any government would lie and be opportunistic, even a socialist one... the only difference is: as long as the media is like it is now, the opportunism of the conservative is ok, but anything that comes from progressive parties, is propaganda and evil and is made down.
but still: every election period more and more ppl seem to realize that issue, every 4 years our progressive parties get more votes Smile

Juding your statement I'd say that 60% of the citizen in my country is voting for the right windged party called the Moderate party which is Liberal-conversate. In the past the left winged was popular since they got a new leader which ruined them and people stopped voting for them. Now the right winged party is in the power of the government and alot of things has become expensive, local traffic for example.

oh, here its alot more of the ppl voting for the right winged parties. we have just one REALLY left winged... and one left-middle winged. and they have together about 25%...
but the smaller one of them is just a coalition party for others... so they are only as progressive as they need to be to get those voters ^^

tim didnt read well xP
there is a reason why you call communisms that were executed on the world "stalinism" or "maoism" and so on. because they werent pure communism. and because that word is already so abused i tend to use socialism, which is also bad interpreted, but well, somehow u need to call it.
and if you would perform socialism well, then it would be no problem. as long as you have capitalistic elements in your socialist community it wont work. like with banks, that are half property of the state and half private property, which ends in that the profit of banks go into private pockets and the risk is holden by the state.
same for the nuclear companies like tepco: private industrials get all the money, and the risk has to be taken by the ppl and the state.

capitalism is the ideology of unfairness: if you can exploit someone, DO IT. if you dont, then youre already lost and you will get exploited. thats what capitalism is all about.

i am really excited to see a socialist government that is not a dictature...
chile had one for 3 years if the usa didnt help the the dictators to grap power through a coup. if the rest of the world didnt put on that embargo and that propaganda and would have acted fair towards chile, then who knows how it would have ended...

idk what ppl are afraid of with socialism, it can only be better than what is now, as long as it remains democratic Smile

ppl shouldnt judge things they werent ready to explore better. then ppl would know that socialism itself doesnt mean stalinism. they wouldnt think of him when they talk about communism if they would know it.

if there was a place for altruism and kindness in capitalism, it woultnd be a problem. but capitalism forces to always vanish your opponents and exploit ppl below you.
just imagine the banks wouldnt bring countries into debts. a bank lives already by the customers of the population, they gain so much money, that would be far more then enough. but no, they earn BILLIONS by fooling with the state's money.
and in the end the state's money is the populations money again.

but capitalism looks out for the MAXIMUM profit. and it ALWAYS is on cost of the little man. though still those companies could have BIG profits WITHOUT exploiting the little man...
Sad
