Moraband!

After recent news that 'Star Wars' canon is getting an overhaul, it looks as though the Sith home world has been renamed. But will we see it in 'Star Wars VII'?

It's been a part of the 'Star Wars' universe for many years, but it looks as though Korriban will be no more. Re-named (presumably) as part of Lucasfilm's big canon reshuffle, it seems that the Sith home world will now be known as 'Moraband'. But why is this sudden name change so important? I can't help thinking we might get a glimpse of the ancient Sith world in the upcoming 'Star Wars VII'…

[New casting sheds light on Star Wars VII]

Unveiled rather unceremoniously in the official Star Wars Insider magazine, a synopsis for one of the upcoming final 'Clone Wars' episodes reveals Korriban's new name.

"After many gruelling trials, Yoda next travels to the ancient Sith homeworld of Moraband, where he must face an ancient evil determined to rule the galaxy."

Granted, it's not a lot to go on… but in the wake of the recently announced 'Star Wars' canon overhaul, it seems like a very deliberate change. And that could be because we'll be hearing a lot more about this barren planet in the years to come.

Often described as a harsh and unforgiving planet, it's home to many of the most sacred Sith artefacts… and appears in numerous books and videogames as a sacred place where countless Sith have learned the ways of the Dark Side. And with no-one around to train the Sith of the future, could this be the training grounds of our 'Episode VII' villain?

There's been plenty of speculation that Korriban (or 'Moraband as it's now known) could appear in the upcoming 'Star Wars' sequels. And recent concept art on the Lucasfilm website might even give us our first glimpse… if that's what it turns out to be. For now, it looks as though we'll have to wait and see. But never underestimate the power of the Dark Side.

Wel i personally think its shit. The home planet of the sith was always Korriban! why would they want to change it, it destroys the sith history in changing the name

Disney will destroy Star Wars, give it a few years and you will see Mickey f**king Mouse appearing in them

This is why I do not consider the Clone Wars series canon. They already tried to destroy my Mandalorians, now they are trying to rewrite a big part of Sith history. Fck them. I will never accept it.

Agree, Bringing back Darth Maul was ridiculous too.

I do like the Clone Wars but some of the stuff get's a bit annoying.

Especially how they make the droid's out to be complete re-tards..... WE AREN'T ALL RE-TARDS OKAY!

So right. If they ever mess with the Chiss, heads will roll. Only Timothy Zahn has the rights to invent stuff about them. if they fck up, ppl will die.

I liked the 'Cartoon Network' Clone Wars which was a build up to Episode 3, not a fan of the whole Ahsoka Tano thing though

Yeah me too danek!! Although I like Ahsoka as a character, the series of her with Anakin and Obi-wan doesn´t really get me into it. And I really like the 'Cartoon Network' Clone Wars, as the story between the second and the third episode movie. I personally liked all Marvel and Lucasarts projects before Disney bought them, but still isn´t all that bad. Who knows, maybe episode VII will be a good star wars film (or not). At least we should give them a chance.

Exactly. Same for the Mandos, only Karen Traviss can alter their history/culture. Anything else is non-canon in my eyes.

Why the hell would you rename a planet in star wars universe if the original name is perfectly fine?
This is one of the other reasons why i prefer playing the older star wars games rather than the new ones since the older ones have the star wars universe in its full glory, now if i hear the name moraband im going to think its a piece of shit :L

Star Wars The Clone Wars did turn out very good i say!

Plus there is a lot more action, and you get to find out more about Star Wars.

Example: Mortis! Farther, Brother and Sister! Why Ani is so strong/the chosen one!

But I already learn about that stuff from reading the books... : (
