Something we have lost and we have to recover it

I have been thinking...

I am maybe too nostalgic but I remember when in the old days, we had a lot of active people all the time and how we had fun in different ways. Of course, its not the same now, but a lots of members and people are still very active and have contribuite to the enjoyment of the game. For example, Epic's tournys on sundays is one of the best ideas and contributions to the clan and the game imo. We had been though many things and harsh times. People talked about the "dead" of JK2 and of the clan several times, but until now we are still alive. But I think we lost something, we don't put any maps anymore (we limit ourselfs to two or three maps and I know we can't have maps all the time because some people doesn't have them or don't want them, but it can be used from time to time), we don't do CTF (well some people don't like it and I am personally very bad at it, but its fun and I like it, and the case is that we don't even do it anymore, although that doesn't mean we HAVE to do it all the time), since the council doesn't exist anymore and we became a "direct democracy", we haven't talked much about medals or awards (About this point, I think we have enough people active on forums, but maybe members could interest more on the clan by making the polls for the medals and choice those members who are suitable to recive the medal). Also, as an optional thing, we could make fun tournaments (aside from epic's tournys, like if they are sporadic tournaments on the week if people wants to participate, and it could be done by any member) on training and ffa in office in the server (until one person remains), as we have done it on the past.

This are just ideas and impressions from me of what we should or could do to get back to what we used to be sometime ago. Obviously, I could be wrong in some things and maybe it could be useless to bring them back right now. I want to clarify that we have done several positive things too and the members have been active, but I think that this changes could make a better atmosphere.

I know that people are busy this days too and they do what they can (I even don't know if I have ever contributed that much to the clan, I am not that sociable sometimes and I spend more time on the server than on the forum, but I guess I did what I though I could do for the clan) and I know as well that spending too much time on a game could lead to monotony but I think that when you are surronded of more and different people, life becomes more unpredictable and changes tends to appear and we can use that in a positive way. That's why I think we should try to get the server more crowded or at least get the majority of our members there

In terms of the tourneys, rather than doing 1 weekly NF tourney (I won't have time in the coming months to keep doing them as regularly, and people seemed to be losing interest in them being NF only) how about doing a different tourney each week, hosted by anyone that wants to do it. It's been suggested before but never followed through with, but might be an idea to do now.

What about LMS/Instagib tourneys too? While we don't yet use somehow Kameleon's mod we can have these events there at good times, SoL peoples, SoL vs someone etc etc.

This topic is partly reminiscent of an old argument between Draco and several members, including me; it concerns server activity in a way. It is drama, but you might read it if you're interested in a dated take on the topic.

How about you advertise a weekly event yourself? Your ping is very unfair to you, but it would help if your clan had another follow Epic's footsteps. I think Instagib is the optimal choice, as it can be played with the lowest number of players (four).

Next Sunday (tomorrow is a bit short notice) is the perfect time for someone to organise something fun for us to do. Whatever it is, make a topic about it and use the best tool at our disposal, the SoL Steam Group\Chatroom, and the forums to advertise it.

That's pretty much all it takes. Make a decision, make people aware, keep people aware up until the day, then run it.

It's not a bad idea and I like the fact that not only one person have to organise something. I still like NF because is what I enjoy the most, but it isn't bad to combine it with ff or ffa sometimes or something else.

I will check it later, but from the little I have seen, I think I remember seeing it before.

times move on light, and people have to move on too. We all can't live young forever ^_^.
Now if you can reverse time or freeze time, then i think most of us would still have time to play games light.

I know luci, that's why I said that I could be wrong in some of the things I have proposed and maybe it could be useless to bring them back right now, and also I know that people are busy too. But I just want to try it

Instagib it is called because it is one-shot kills with disruptor ^_^, it is mostly CTF with disruptors instead of sabers and force powers. Same with LMS where everyone usually begins with 10 lives and the last player alive is winner, hence Last Man Standing and it is a big fun , maybe we could try it, you will like it ^_^
