| Hello guys! Miso here. Most of you may know me. I go on SoL a lot to seek out players to duel. So, the reason I'm posting here is because of a great idea I had thought of, and some people agreed that it would be a great change. As you guys know, the SoL EU server is the more active than the US. I know that SoL is mostly a force clan, but if the US server was made into a No Force Server, you could potentially get a lot of players on. Wishes: SoL US Server Becomes No Force server, using ffa_bespin I am willing to give you a mod I made. It's basejk+ basejk+ is just small fixes to basejk, such as: -100/100 at start of duel; if you win, you get 100/100 -No 10 second waiting time -Multiple duels can be made -Bots are extremely aggressive and follow your every move These 4 changes do not impact overall JK2 physics (would have to take a lot like an admin system and more to affect it). So, back to The NF server! A LOT of players have been pretty disappointed of the lack of no NF basejk servers that have good ping. SoL's US server provides excellent connection to the players I am referring to. Everybody would be happy that they have a dedicated server that is basejk and NF to FFA, duel, and TFFA on. If this happened, you truly will see a large amount of success. Sorry if this suggestion is completely out of order, made it on the spot. | Yes I like this too, but having the map on ffa_bespin all the time sounds a little boring, maybe a map cycle between different maps? | |

| FFA bespin is a good standard map, although I personally don't like it much, pahaps Bespin_Streets would be a better option. It's a big map that has been modded well, which means you can can fight on the ground, or fight up high, and still have plenty of space, it doesn't have the clostrophobia that Yavin_Temple has, with all its nooks and crannies.
I like this idea too, I don't go to the US server often, because there is no difference between it and Euro, except my ping is x3 better on Euro, so why bother. Having a no force server could attract the kind of players that we have rarely had before, because Ca was always the top dog of the no force servers. So we never got the players that chose Ca. Now the Ca is no longer running, I imagine there are players who are still interested in NF duelling, that have nowhere to play.
We could potentially increase our numbers and our clan reputation, quite substantially, as well as game play being different. NF training is my first thought, but it could also be good for people to socialise, and have some peace, for some reason, I think we'd be less likely to get heavy lamers and evc users there, because it's more difficult to run riot on server, without force. | |

| Ffa bespin is so commonly used, that anyone feels like they dont experience a change of evnironment, no matter which server they visit.
Although it is common, that ffa bespin is the most preferred map in ffa gametype, it is comparing with deathstar far better and also if u use yavin temple as a second map in the cycle list, would be ok too. But for the maps it should not be too big and also not too small. | |

Don't forget, we have a 32 player allowance on US, thats almost twice what we have on Euro, if we could fill it, the map wouldn't seem big at all. Ca used to sell out on a regular basis. Plus, I like big maps, and Bespin Streets is so open, and without many obsticles. | |

| mhm, good idea. we should collect as many opinions as possible and the council shall discuss this too. I am not convinced of this... Would make the HC work harder ^^ and I always liked the idea, that both servers are equal. so if we have many US ppl on, we could go US. and we also had too many players several times for EU, and when we had that huge sol meeting, we went to US... when it is an NF server with a different mod, this woulnd't work the same.
I think it could be better to have an NF server with DCmod... though the 10 secs sux and I think some other settings might be non-optimal for nf. | |

Pahaps we could ask Grimm if he could update to a 32 person server? Xaso, in reality, that doesn't happen often enough for it to make a difference. Both servers should have constant usefulness. Theres no point keeping a server running, just for the chance that every now and again, we may need to use it. It shouldn't be a contingency server, and right now, I think it is exactly that. Poor reasons for keeping it the way it is. Also, there is no relationship beween force/nonforce server, and having a SoL meeting on US. Why would going to US to socialise, make a difference if it was no force? Moot point. I think a no force server could potentially be as successful as the Euro server is right now. Imagine having two servers full of players. It won't happen if we continue as we are. | |

| Not bad idea though id need bit more convincing. This being SoL server it might be better with DCMod, those 10 seconds, I could live with that however having NF server might be beneficial in terms of activity, question would be if such activity would be sustainable long-term. If map to choose then id stick to bespin_streets | |

| I agree this could work. Tho as xaso said it would be harder for us hc's. Also, its been so long I don't remember, would somebody be able to use aimbot? (due to the mod there are no admins, (not sure if hc can kick from rcon but if so that'd be the only way). Also, a common problem with bespin_streets is fps. | |

| Ye, I forgot on fps, low fps is quite common in bespin. It might work, several questions need to be answered tho (e.g. those by vader or xaso) | |

| It is quite hard to keep a good fps with being that many players in a map. So a bigger map is required to increase it, or not?
Also about the issue with runninv dcmod in a nf server is a no go. We either have to stick into an other servermod and get used with it or the idea about the nf server is history. | |

| Could be interesting, as I prefer NF duels to pretty much any other method of fighting.
Thing is, I like force enough to keep it, and my connection to the euro server kind of blows, despite the fact that I am now accustomed to fighting there. I can fight with that ping, I just don't like how it feels, and I would rather keep the US server with force enabled. This is just my opinion though.
The US server represents SoL as the most centralized server for the members of our clan, we have members that live in South America, there's no way they could play on a Euro server. At all. Changing the US to an NF server would mean that they would have to use the Euro server to play force, or find some other server closer to them that isn't one of ours. This is the biggest problem that this change would pose. | |

| Hey guys, love the amount of support on this post! A few things popped into my head as I read all the replies: 1. A majority of NF'ers prefer to use ffa_bespin. So maybe a map cycle after someone hits 100 kills? Like, ffa_bespin, ffa_deathstar, and any other maps you can think of? bespin_streets is very big and can destroy fps (not to mention NF'ers dislike playing on maps without any shield damage hitmarks) 2. It is obviously not my call to do anything, but in my opinion, the server would attract a lot more attention if it were to run basejk (or my basejk+ (essentially the same thing)). If the 10 second wait is what you really want, I could re-enable it. Thank you for all the input guys! | |

| I like the idea, personally my ping doesnt change in US or EU, its always 300-290 but I dont know about Light, Bacara or Yaku how much will affect their ping. How much time takes to change the mod? I dont know too much about mods and stuff... | |

| The bugs with yellow style in basejk are annoying. DCMod is super close to basejk in terms of combat, plus there's a lot of additional admin functionality and emotes. I like the idea of changing the US server to something unique. We could try NF for awhile at least. I would choose to keep DCMod, though, especially for simplicity between the servers. | |

| I like this idea, took me a while to get into EU this evening as it was full and the US server was empty. I agree it would give a bit more stress to the DC admins having 32 people possibly in the server. | |
