My computer has been suffering from a severe virus infection recently which had put my computer in the sick bay for a few days, hence my inactivity. The system was totally penetrated and i couldnt do anything with my pc, but thanks to a good mate of mine i just managed to avoid wiping the system and re-installing windows. So not to worry, im all fixed up and sorted so i'll be back in JK2 in no time
My mate even put on some top of the range virus protection for me. Its called symantec and he says its the best there is, its so good that its not even commercially available, its only companies and organisations that are supposted to be able to buy it. So im counting myself lucky ^^
Anyways the good news is that im sorted and back in business.
Cause no one is stupid enough to try and create a super virus for MACs! They do have good anti-virus software, like Avast!. I use Avast! alot, and the only thing I like that Apple makes.

Umm did you not read my post right? No one is dumb enough to try. That is why most MACs get away with that. They do have good Anti-virus programs (I use one myself), but PCs are more widely used. So it is a bit smarter to make a virus for the computer that is more common. ^^

It's becuase the idiots that make a virus want to wreak as much havoc as possible. That's why they target windows and pcs. There are other advantages of being on a Mac like not having to defrag, they have HFS+ filesystem. PCs tend to slow down, cuz of NTFS, as the hard drive gets full and you should use good defragging software like Diskeeper. I use Fedora, a linux operating system, for my home servers, lots of movies. First off it's free and also ext4, it's filesystem, does not have the defragging problem of NTFS. With huge files it would be a nightmare to defrag all the time. Linux doesn't have the virus issues that Windows has either. For me Windows is still best desktop os out there. It has best software available and is more configurable then OS X Snow Leopard. With virtualization tecnology today you will begin to be able to run more and more operating systems on any given machine. I have a VMWare ESXi server that has 4 operating systems on it right now, not inculding the ESXi (the main operating system). If anyone ever wants to try out linux stuff you should check out Oracle's Virtualbox, used to be Sun Microsystems. www.virtualbox.org It will let you run a linux operating system on your windows pc. Ubuntu, a version of linux, is prolly best for beginners. Linux will make you quickly appreciate how good Windows really is. For me Macs are for people that need user friendly, soz to you Mac lovers.
PS- FYI, Symantec=Norton same company.
