Help Please

ok ive tried to install jk2 onto my laptop ( vista - 32 bit )
patched it to 1.04 patch
changed that setting so it runs as windows xp service pack 2
ran as admin then
console loads up
HUGE WHITE SCREEN AND JK2MP.EXE WAS CLOSE (BLAH BLAH)
my colours go all weird ( really bright )

i think your not ment to manually patch jk2 mine did it automatically try unpatching jk2

well ive just tested and single player works fine... so maybe its my jk2mp.exe file which is broken....

If you don't actually own the game (you're using a mounted image) or you're using Steam, you should not patch it. If that's the case I would reinstall. After a fresh install, try to load MP. If you can, open the console to check the version. If you can't open MP (it crashes), then you do actually have to patch it.

Also, I doubt that you would have to run it in Compatibility mode or run it as an Administrator. It's fine on W7.

i about the compatibilty i read about it somewhere and tried it still didnt work

if you could upload your jk2mp.exe i can try that see if it works if not then ill reinstall

I don't recommend trying to use other people's .exe files. Just reinstall. Check the version on fresh install (reread my previous post, I edited it).

reinstalling now ..... hope it works this time

2nd Edit : opened single player, opened console and its version 1.02a

3rd Edit : Searched internet for jk2mp.exe and found something about it crashing with dual core... maybe thats the issue

The patch only patches MP anyway. So you get the same white screen, but the loader doesn't crash? Usually unpatched makes MP loader crash.

i can load sp but mp is having none of it.. everyway ive tried its the same white screen then jk2mp.exe crashes/closes

yeah dont patch it, i used draco's image (hence why it shows draco.ffa when it shows connected) just reinstall it swifty.

i did reinstall but had same problem but ive fixed it now

i had to go into System > Advanced System Settings > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention... and added jk2mp.exe

now it works fine with the 1.04patch currently on the sol server...

gotta fix my binds lol

Windows Vista? that is a bad operative sistem. I think u need change it for windows 7. I play jk2 with windows 7 without problems
