| maybe it's that : go in folders options in your config pannel, and in the second tab ( display ), disable "hide files extensions which are known" or something like that.
Then you remake your cfg.
what i think happened is that as your windows hides extentions, when you add .cfg at the end of your file, it doesn't set .cfg as extension but as file name.

| It might be what you wrote in the cfg thats the problem e.g. a mistake like writing /bind instead of bind in the cfg, could you post whats in the cfg here? | |

| If you're using it in the SoL server, you shouldn't be saving it to your "base" folder, you should be saving it to your "dcmod1.2" folder. If you are on Windows 7 64-bit, that folder is not located where you think it is; it's here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\dcmod1.2
If you copy and paste that into the top of a Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) bar, it should take you to the correct location. If you don't have 64-bit, it's probably still in the normal place:
C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\dcmod1.2

| i use ALL my scripts in base folder ... and they all work perfectly. It doesn't change nothing if the script is properly made, and at least it works in all servers. | |

| Well the issue would be if he has another CFG with the same name in his dcmod1.2 folder due to /write filename while in-game, I believe the custom ones he adds to his base folder will be overridden.
If this isn't your problem, most likely Ajunta is right about the file extension; you need to open a Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) window, at the top choose "Organize," then "Folder and search options," then second tab "View," then UNcheck "Hide extensions for known file types." Then you can rename your file from something like "config.cfg.txt" or "config.txt" to just "config.cfg".
