First topic message reminder :

After recent news that 'Star Wars' canon is getting an overhaul, it looks as though the Sith home world has been renamed. But will we see it in 'Star Wars VII'?

It's been a part of the 'Star Wars' universe for many years, but it looks as though Korriban will be no more. Re-named (presumably) as part of Lucasfilm's big canon reshuffle, it seems that the Sith home world will now be known as 'Moraband'. But why is this sudden name change so important? I can't help thinking we might get a glimpse of the ancient Sith world in the upcoming 'Star Wars VII'…

[New casting sheds light on Star Wars VII]

Unveiled rather unceremoniously in the official Star Wars Insider magazine, a synopsis for one of the upcoming final 'Clone Wars' episodes reveals Korriban's new name.

"After many gruelling trials, Yoda next travels to the ancient Sith homeworld of Moraband, where he must face an ancient evil determined to rule the galaxy."

Granted, it's not a lot to go on… but in the wake of the recently announced 'Star Wars' canon overhaul, it seems like a very deliberate change. And that could be because we'll be hearing a lot more about this barren planet in the years to come.

Often described as a harsh and unforgiving planet, it's home to many of the most sacred Sith artefacts… and appears in numerous books and videogames as a sacred place where countless Sith have learned the ways of the Dark Side. And with no-one around to train the Sith of the future, could this be the training grounds of our 'Episode VII' villain?

[Natalie Portman wishes she could be in Star Wars VII]

There's been plenty of speculation that Korriban (or 'Moraband as it's now known) could appear in the upcoming 'Star Wars' sequels. And recent concept art on the Lucasfilm website might even give us our first glimpse… if that's what it turns out to be. For now, it looks as though we'll have to wait and see. But never underestimate the power of the Dark Side.

What do you think of this guys?

Wel i personally think its shit. The home planet of the sith was always Korriban! why would they want to change it, it destroys the sith history in changing the name

Whats your opinion guys??

There are still a lot of cool things in the Clone Wars that weren't in books... Like Admiral Trench.

Go search him up, he's a baddass spider CIS general.

Why have him when my books have Thrawn? Or Fel? Or the Yuzhaan Vong? (Yes I liked that arc, suck it!)

Sorry, not a Yuzhaan Vong fan myself :p

But still, CW has added a lot of cool aspects and characters into Star Wars. Smile

Understandable, I wasn't interested in them either because how many books are in that story arc. But once you get into it, it's really good. 0.0

If not that I suggest the Thrawn Trilogy, or the Hand of Thrawn Duo Books. Or the Jedi Academy series. Or I,Jedi (My personal favorite).

Nope, Korriban still exists. There were multiple planets that the Original "Sith" species originated from and Korriban was in fact not actually the first one. Moraband was more Ancient and has more predated time of construction for it. Korriban is also "The ancient home world of the sith" But so is Moraband a a few planets arround there areas.

Actually nevermind. I forgot something: Korriban, known as Pesegam during the reign of Xim, and also known as Moraband by the time of the Clone Wars, was the sole planet in the Horuset system, located across the galaxy from Koros Major. It was the original homeworld of the Sith species and a sacred planet for the Sith Order, housing the tombs for many ancient and powerful Dark Lords of the Sith, and containing immense dark side power.

It is normal for Planets in the Star Wars Galaxy to be renamed in time.
