Well sods law I spontaneously try to play JK2 and install the game on Steam so I can play on the latest Macbook Pro.

Et voila:

Help get a Pilgrim home! Screen10

I thought I'd avoid thinking about my base folder and exec/cfg/skin/map files and focus on just seeing my mates. WHY JK2 GODS WHY?!?!!?

Hmm, try turn auto downloads off and on again or on and off again, it should work one way you do it. I had that message and it took a bit of fiddling around but i got it.

Regarding the Downgrade to 1.02 ... uhm ... well Fi's been battling that at least. On some forum posts. But yeah, I have Steam automatically notify me of anything of the JK2 sphere so I can get to things like that. It's a recurring problem (especially when they bring "God" into it lol). Welcome to Steam JK2.

Well I found base folder after help to locate steam files on my computer but neither download (from Vader) work - The latter link is exactly what it asks for but doesn't make a difference.

I dunno....it's late and I'm tired and sad I can't play Sad

But hopefully it can be cracked.

EDIT: I put in both programmes at the same time and now it asks for zzzzzyavin24.pk3

OH, I forgot that Kam edited the map. Put this into base: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yej99ofw9l7cxxp/ZZZZZZyavin_temple24.pk3?dl=0

HOPEFULLY, that fixes the issue. Very Happy

from my experience dling files into base folder does not fix this problem. I also know Mai has problems with steam as well, when it's about playing jk2. Reaver makes an important point: I found Fi as reliable when it's about getting JK2 to run ^^

my experience is, that you have to turn autodownload off under all circumstances. Once you started up the game (once the dcmod isn't loaded yet) and once you tried to join the server (which loads dcmod).

a short internet search mentions the need of the different assets.pk3 Now I remember, that Iwabo had the same problem, and when I sent him my assets files, it would work. alternatively there is jk2mv by ouned, which might work as well to get the game running. talking about jk2mv: Kameleon also might get your game running.

alright, enough technical gibberish. what a coincidence kernow, only yesterday we talked about you  ^^ it's good to see you alive :> would be so cool, if you came back! Where have you been? How have you been doing? Whats up? and: Heyho! (oh, and add me on steam!)

Problem is he's tried allow download already and it didn't work. So maybe the replaced assets would work. In which case, does he need all of the assets replaced, or just assets0? (which is the main one really).

Well, in that case: Whenever the *next* version of JK2MV (Would be 1.0.3 or higher) gets released, it will have fixes for this particular issues for the Steam version of Mac Smile

Thanks for all the advice chaps. Best place for advice and assistance than anywhere else on the web Razz

Vader I put in the zzzzyavin24.pk3 file into my base, it then showed me the same error messages:

Help get a Pilgrim home! Screen13
Help get a Pilgrim home! Screen14

I toggled autodownloads but I only got either of those messages.

I received Danek's pm with asset .pk3 files numbering 0, 1 2 & 5. However, haven't put them into my base as I already have a list of asset .pk3s - both "%assets" and "assets" numbering the same as Danek's links.

At the moment the latter three folder view windows (JK2>Contents>Base) look as follows:

Help get a Pilgrim home! Screen10

Reaver & Xaso; what was Fi's issue? I think he has a Mac doesn't he? I know a few guys do I've forgotten who.

Here is his thread he uses to help people (of course people stopped going on it after a while):

https://steamcommunity.com/app/6030/discussions/0/620703493329764447/

Anyways, add him to your friends list and tell him what's wrong. He's very good at getting JK2 to work for people (and helping out with problems). I'll make sure to tell him you're Steam username if you need/want in case you get declined.
