| Odd. I have seen other people judge the movie after they saw it - people who claim to be severe Star Wars fans -, and they all tend to dislike it. Disappointed by how bad it is. Even Rotten Tomatoes claims the normal viewers to be severely disappointed compared to how the critics rate it.
Not that i mind critics. I generally believe them to be obsolete and just attempting to act sophisticated by always rating good things bad, and bad things as being good.

| - Aint a spoiler, but...:
In one scene snoke says to kylo:"You are no Vader. Just a kid with a mask...!"
So, remember two years ago when Kylo was on ALL the merch? That kinda broke the 4th wall to me...
Watch the movie, fixed all the mistakes from "The Force Awakens"!

My updated rankings: 5 > 8 > 3 > R1 > 6 = 7 > 1 > 4 > 2

| Maybe we could use the Force to see the future of SW, also excited. Never thought of rankings though, probably because I'm not so demanding fan, I just want to enjoy it which I did. | |

| I have watched it yesterday. To be honest, I didn't like 7 episode that much, but I wanted to see if this film could fix the things that I believed were "mistakes" in my opinion. I ended up liking episode 7 more than this one, after seeing it. It's just my opinion though and probably the only one that is "negative". I guess it might be because i am too attached to the older films and their original plots and character development or not. The only film from Disney I REALLY liked so far was Rogue one.

| It was enjoyable in the cinema, but it was no good star wars movie. The scenes were all made in a good manner for itself (you can have a movie with that kind of slapstick humour, but for a sw film? meh...), but they don't add to a good story with believable characters. A good story is a whole story is one story. You have like literally 4 or 5 escape scenarios clipped to one another, with a totally unnecessary digression to the casino planet. Finn has no character development and is pretty much disposable. Luke, who saw the conflict in vader, is scared of his nephew? There are many things as to why this movie might please casual viewers who like a good sci-fi spectacle. But those who expect good movies and expect an addition to the star wars universe were probably disappointed.
i have another problem with this movie. I had a discussion with many people about ep7 and they were trying to tell me, that 7 lays ground for a blasting experience in 8 and 9. "It's gonna be a trilogy, they just introducing the characters and conflicts, man!" I wanted to believe them. But now that Finn has no development after all, snoke is dead, luke crap and dead - now all the potential in ep7 has died for me too, which is why it fell even further in my ranking.
Original movies: 6 > 5 = 1 > 4 > 3 > 2
After seeing Ep7 and Rogue One: 6 > 5 = 1 > 4 = R1 > 3 = 7 > 2
But now after seeing Ep8: 6 > 5 = 1 > 4 = R1 > 3 > 8 > 7 = 2

| Yeah well...the old magic of the star wars movies is gone now I guess. Everything has to evolve someday. From my point of view the new Movie was good in a way you can see a movie. But for a whole hearted Star Wars fan its a bit dissapointing. They added much humor wich is a nice fresh blow of air. But the Characters... Spoiler! - Spoiler:
I saw NO charakter progression with Finn. None at all tbh. AND SNOKE??? WTF. Some super evil dude with no background at all? CMON!!! We dont know who he is. We dont know where he came from. Just got killed in a stupid way. And the director took WAY 2 much liberty with the force. Projecting himself wich possible physical interaction to another planet at the butt of the universe? To quote Han: THAT'S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS!?
