Sound Recorder - Help!

Hey guys, I've been thinking about making a Lamer Cat video but I need help first, ever since I rebooted my computer in May, the program Sound Recorder doesn't work. When I open it, I try to record something, and listen to it, all I hear is silence which isn't supposed to happen.
Now, you may be wandering... What does this Sound Recorder have to do with Lamer Cat? I have a Microsoft computer so this is how I record stuff: Go to Control Panel, go to Sound Settings/speech/etc and open up Speech, you can type in whatever you please and it will play exactly what you say. I record Microsoft Sam for the voice of Ceiling Cat and use that in my videos and it doesn't work, if Sound Recorder doesn't work, then I can't really make these videos. :/
Could someone please tell me where I could download a very simple and easy to use Sound Recorder? I've tried 2 other Sound Recorders and they don't work... Or if someone could help me find out the problem to the default one, that would be amazing, I've tried almost everything I can do to fix it...

Change the name of Lamer Cat?

Yep that's right. I don't really like the name Lamer Cat, I might just start a new series or something. What if I change the name to something like Liberty Sunrise and make it about SOL and all the members and stuff? This clan is against laming and the name Lamer Cat doesn't help much in my opinion. =/


For those of you who have seen the episode of Lamer Cat where Ceiling Cat visits Ook's Haunted house, you will know that it was one of my first videos and not one of the best. Therefore, I've decided to make a remake when I solve my Sound Recorder problem and when I have teh energy xD.

well your problem with recording seems to fail at your microphone. or if you try to record from sounds on your pc you must have screwed your settings, maybe you only phail the volume xD but i cant tell like this. i use audacity for my sound stuff. if you'd use that i could try to help you

idk why you want to change the name. it doesnt has to do something with sol. only if you wanted that
