Hey lads :3
To what kind of music do you listen these days? :3 And do you visit some festivals?
I listen to actually all styles of metal ( also core ect. ) and electronic music like Synthpop, Darkwave, Aggrotech and EBM. Some Hardstyle and DnB now and then.
Each and every year i visit the Amphi festival in Cologne ( and Gamescon but thats a different hobby again ), E-Tropolis, Blackfield, Syndicate, M'era Luna and stuff
So what about you?

Used to listen to a lot of Texas In July when their first album came out. Can't say i'm very into them anymore though.

I dig it a lot. Sounds a lot like Nine Inch Nails. Badass.

Oh god please don't be one of those people....
But I am, I don't have to like such music xD
I am with you there yods.
Yeah, no problem with you not liking the music.... with some of the music though, particularly punk and hardcore, if you're not interested in the delivery of the message, look up the lyrics. They are much more thought provoking than people think. Especially bands like Gouge Away and WolfxDown, an anti-fascist Germany band.

The deepness and meaning of the lyrics become kind of meaningless when they're completely inaudible :L

Are Ghandi's messages meaningless to you because you don't speak Indian?
If no, there's always a way to find a translation and get to the subject

That's entirely different..... but personally I don't want to listen to people screaming their heads off down a microphone

I'll throw in my opinion
This ''Screaming'' also called Shout/growl wich is a very complex and difficult way to ''sing'' is a very beautiful way to express feelings especialy in a context with lyrics and melody. They are very thoughtful and filled with pure emotions. If you want to hear what i mean listen to a song from Being As An Ocean. The band has a different kind of style but yet their message...is just unbelievable. I'll give you an example with lyrics. And do me the favour and read/listen to it
Band: Being As An Ocean. Album: As We Both Wondrously Perish. Song: Deaths Great Black Wing Scrapes The Air.
Lyrics:
We shout up at the sky Until our mouths are bloody and dry Screaming out at a god that seems to be blind To the suffering of us here below; those pushed aside Look around and witness the weight of this darkness I can assure you that ignorance is not bliss And simply because we’ve adorned our eyes with such arrogance Does not mean the unspeakable will cease Wicked men hoarding necessities While their fellow man die of sickness and disease
Children are still starving Doubled over in pain from the grumbling Dying loved ones whither and fade The person we knew stripped away (All we love will fade All we love is stripped away) Men killing their dearest in a fit of rage Instead of putting the past behind, turning a new page Mothers drown their babies in their sleep As a reprieve ‘cause they don’t know the next time that they’ll eat
We still defile and abuse the innocent Like items to be sold or owned Slavery and prostitution is no place for a nine year old So rage, shed tears out at the angry sky Let the emotion fall from your eyes I tell you the truth YHWH rages with you He hears your frantic pleas Believe me when I say, “He is not some distant thing!” If you’re quiet for a while, you might just hear Him breathe He’s stood at the bedside of the lowly Shoulders heaving, His head in His hands Grieving with a Father’s heart, come to retrieve another wayward lamb
It’s up to us to hold each other’s dignity Recognize we’ve chosen the wrong enemy Hate, ignorance, and inhumanity are what we should be battling Now’s the time for knowledge Now’s the time for Truth Humanity has already suffered so much abuse We must take responsibility, do away with apathy Unlearn society’s teachings To be blind and selfish Because what you must learn Is that the problem is us

That I don't like too
Well and imo if the lyrics are deep and meaningful, why to destroy them with screaming your head off down a mic?

Yodah. Because its human. The heavyest way for a human being to express feelings is to scream them out. In anger or in pain people scream. I'ts just a fact that makes this kind of music beautiful ( of course not all types of them...there are bands out there that literally just scream for no reason ). In my eyes it deserves to be called ''art''.

Don't get me wrong. I dont want to justify it
Its just my opinion I see something beautiful in it. Especialy in the band Being As An Ocean.
I don't want to force you liking my kind of music It's your opinion and evryone should be okay with that

I like various bands from Slipknot and Godsmack to Oasis, Streetlight Manifesto and Dropkick Murphys. I like a lot of game music and some classical stuff too. Everyone has their tastes in music, everyone dislikes and likes various genres so it's always a personal choice .

The heaviest music I can think of that I have ever listened to is this:
and that's only because I love the instrumentals and the deepness of the vocals about war. most of my family has been army, so I have a respect about what they talk about.

I don't know who keeps de-karma-ing Angel here, but just because he likes different kind of music and posts opinion about it, isn't reason for continuous de-karma-fication. Thus I ++ -ed back every his post here. So im saying now to the person who gave a lot of negative karma to Angel, don't be dekarma-ing someone just because he doesn't like the music you do. Maybe I am wrong in something but this dekarma-ing is wrong in my eyes (disagree with me if you want. I will still stand with this)

Well only this year have I actually been to proper festivals, but I was getting paid to be there so I wasn't partying all the time.
This year I went to Glastonbury, Sonisphere, Womad, Cropredy, Greenman, Greenbelt and EndoftheRoad.
These are my highlight bands that I saw live while at said festivals: Mogwai, Jurassic 5, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Reel Big Fish, Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Frank Turner, Mastodon, Three Trapped Tigers, Johnny Flynn, Dizraeli & The Small Gods
It was an eventful summer ^_^
